Where does my money go?
EVERY CENT RAISED BENEFITS CDA. "The Fund" is the Friends of CDA’s (also known as the booster club) annual direct giving fund. The money raised benefits the entire CDA community by supporting staff, educational materials and programs that LAUSD does not fund. All funds raised this year fund the following year. The purpose of these funds is to respond to the needs of the school, which may shift from year to year due to factors like LAUSD funding or academic priorities.
How much should I give?
WHATEVER AMOUNT IS RIGHT FOR YOUR FAMILY. The suggested amount is $1,600 per child. While this seems like a big ask, our suggested amount is less than or on par with many other comparable LAUSD schools. We understand that not everyone is in the same position financially. Even if you can’t give the full ask, please give what you can. Our goal is to have all families participate. We also offer additional ways to contribute. Check if your company has a matching gift program to double your donation. All contributions are tax-deductible and can be made in one lump sum or can be broken into smaller increments.
Who decides how the funds are allocated?
You. Me. All of us. Come to the monthly Booster Club meetings, also known as CDA Parents’ Meetings, to have your say. (P.S. If you're a CDA caregiver you’re already a member of the Booster Club).
